He's back..... Back HOME!!!

Well, well, well... as it turns out, I am STILL not good at keeping up a blog.

Regardless, I have great news to share!!!

Nathan, my nieces husband - which officially makes him my nephew, is HOME. He arrived HOME from his one-year tour of duty in Afghanistan on July 4th, of all days. Certainly made for a great 4th of July. The best one in my recollection.

Another niece of mine took a photo of Nathan, Ashley and their 2-year-old daughter Cadence Anne. She was looking up at her Daddy.... her expression said to me, "Daddy's HOME, Daddy's HOME, He's REALLY HOME!!!" with such great joy you just have to smile.

Of course Cadence Anne's Mommy was more than delighted too.

In fact, we're all pretty happy our soldier is HOME. Here's to the many family celebrations we will have together again as a family. Gotta love a homecoming.

I've recently cleared out this blog. Nearly a year since my last post and with the July 4th weekend coming up our family is awaiting Nathan and other soldiers coming home from their year-long tour of duty in Afghanistan. His wife (my niece) and their two-year-old (plus) daughter will be more than happy to have him back home. In fact, we'll all be happy when he is home and no longer in harms way.

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!!
Enjoy your holiday and remember those who are away from their families.

WOW.... a year and a half... ALREADY

Please don't tell me it has been a year and a half since I have posted to this trial-run of a blog. Hey, I told you not to tell me that.... I guess I have simply been busy living my life and not writing about it on a blogspot. Not such a bad thing. Yet, I want to see IF I can keep up some sort of blog so that when Jeff and I make our decisions for one I will be able to hold up my end.

Here it is August, 2009.....Nathan, Ashley's husband is on deployment in Afghanistan. Elections are coming up, such a delicate time to be in that country. Praying for all to be safe and sound. Jeff and I sent a care package to Nathan today.... should arrive in 1.5 to 2 weeks. Plan to send another care package next month....in the meantime I'll keep sending notes reminding him of a rather calm lifestyle here.

That's it for now.... more thoughts later.............................
Teri :)
